Lagos State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT  says it would not compromise the welfare of its members.

The State Chairman of the union, Segun Raheem, said strike were not the only potent  weapons for demanding for teachers dues.

The chairman said the union had adopted other means to actualise demands of teachers in the State.

Raheem emphasized that the union had in recent times adopted a scientific approach to dialogue and negotiated issues tabled before the government.

He also said  NUT based their demands on earlier agreement between the Lagos State Joint Negotiating Council JNC, and the government on the upward review of workers salary every three years.
